Ethos is a christian-based volleyball club that has girls' teams from ages 11-18. They compete in the Southern Region Volleyball Association (SRVA) and are under the umbrella of the USA Volleyball national organization.
Ethos came to us with a logo and some ideas and in desperate need of a redesign. In addition to a visual redesign and updates, their current site was built on a custom CMS which was difficult for them to update. They knew what they wanted and we helped get them there.
Ethos wanted a site that was first and foremost easy to use. He didn't want parents or players searching for information so a clean, usable user experience was key. He also wanted for Ethos to server as a one stop shop for information about his club. He wanted to drive more traffic to the site rather than having them visit Facebook or Twitter so he wanted as much information as possible on his website.
This project was a complete overhaul with tons of information. On the front page alone, we implemented a list of upcoming events (fed from the calendar), collection of recent photos, twitter feed, as well as quick informational boxes about the club.
They were a bit worried about outgrowing their site so to plan for growth we implemented a horizontal side bar to accommodate future pages. We built custom plugins for adding teams and players so Ethos would have no problem expanding it's player base. For example, we used custom post types to make adding players to the correct team with stats included a breeze.
As with all clients, we worked with Ethos every step along the way. They know volleyball and we know design and together we were able to create a great solution. They were great to work with and as a result of our partnership they were able to increase awareness about girls volleyball in the middle Tennessee area.
